Nicosia: The Center of Excellence for Research and Innovation in Social Sciences, Arts and Humanities (SoScieAtH) of European University Cyprus (EUC) recently hosted the Intensive Training Programme of the Erasmus+ project TRANSIT from 13 to 17 October 2025. The initiative focused on facilitating the transition of new and early-career teachers into the classroom setting while fostering inclusive and multicultural learning environments.
According to Cyprus News Agency, the project is co-funded by the European Union and coordinated by Link¶ping University in Sweden. It unites universities from Germany, Denmark, Norway, Sweden, and Cyprus with the shared objective of supporting the professional journey of novice educators. The week-long event featured interactive workshops and activities aimed at enhancing collaboration, exploring educational beliefs, and encouraging creativity through Playful Learning. Participants engaged in simulations of real-life classroom scenarios, culminating in reflection sessions and discussions on advancing teaching practices and promoting educational inclusion.
Concurrently, the programme marked the launch of the pilot implementation of online modules designed to support teachers and mentors throughout Europe. These digital tools offer flexible learning options to enhance the skills and capabilities of educators in diverse educational settings.
The TRANSIT programme underscored the significance of international cooperation and continuous professional development in education. It set a precedent for fostering more inclusive, open, and creative educational practices across Europe.
