Cyprus Sea Area Weather Forecast: Calm Seas and Favorable Conditions Expected

Nicosia: The Cyprus Department of Meteorology has released its forecast for the sea area of Cyprus, indicating mainly fine weather conditions during the period from noon on August 30, 2026, until noon on August 31, 2026. The atmospheric pressure at the time of the forecast issuance was recorded at 1006 hPa, with seasonal low pressure affecting the area, resulting in good visibility and a sea surface temperature of 29°C. Notably, no warnings have been issued for this period.

According to Cyprus News Agency, the detailed forecast specifies the wind and state of the sea for different coastal areas. On the West Coast, afternoon winds are expected to be from the northwest at force 4, occasionally reaching 5, with the sea state ranging from slight to moderate. By night, the winds will shift to northwest 3 to 4, gradually turning north to northeast near the coast, with a slight sea state. During the morning, winds will be southwest to northwest at force 3, increasing to 3 to 4, with the sea remaining slight.

The South Coast will experience southwest winds at force 4 in the afternoon, occasionally reaching 5, with the sea state being slight, sometimes locally slight to moderate. At night, winds will transition from southwest to west at force 3 to 4, gradually turning northwest at force 3, with the sea state becoming smooth to slight. In the morning, southeast to southwest winds at force 3 will soon turn southwest at force 3 to 4, with the sea state smooth to slight.

For the East Coast, afternoon winds will vary from southeast to southwest at force 3 to 4, sometimes offshore reaching southwest force 4 to 5, with a slight sea state. At night, winds will shift from southwest to northwest at force 3 to 4, soon turning northwest at force 3, with the sea becoming smooth to slight. Morning winds will be northeast to southeast at force 3, gradually turning southeast to southwest at force 3, with the sea state remaining smooth to slight.

The North Coast will see northwest winds at force 4 in the afternoon, at times locally reaching force 4 to 5, with a sea state ranging from slight to moderate. By night, winds will be southwest to northwest at force 3 to 4, gradually turning southeast to south near the coast at force 3, with a slight sea state. In the morning, winds will be southwest to northwest at force 3, gradually increasing to northwest at force 3 to 4, with the sea remaining slight.
