Nicosia: The Industrial Turnover Index in Cyprus saw a 3.5% year-on-year rise in June 2026, reaching 149.5 points, based on data released by the Cyprus Statistical Service. This growth trend was mirrored in the first half of the year, with the index also climbing 3.5% compared to the same period in 2025.
According to Cyprus News Agency, the mining and quarrying sector experienced the most significant annual growth among major sectors, with a notable 13.8% increase. Manufacturing turnover rose by 3.6%, while the water supply and materials recovery sector saw an 8.4% boost. Electricity supply recorded a slight increase of 0.3%.
Within the manufacturing sector, the production of wood and wood products led with a substantial 22.1% increase. Other notable gains were seen in the manufacture of computer, electronic and optical products, and electrical equipment, which increased by 12.4%. The manufacture of basic metals and fabricated metal products rose by 7.4%, while textiles, wearing apparel, and leather products increased by 8.1%. Conversely, the manufacture of rubber and plastic products experienced a decline of 4.8%, furniture and other manufacturing activities dropped by 4.4%, and paper and paper products and printing fell by 2.5%.
Domestic turnover showed a healthy increase of 4.3% in June and 4.2% in the first half of the year. However, export turnover saw a slight decrease of 0.9% in June and a 0.8% drop during the January to June period.
