Hungarian Minister for European Affairs visits Cyprus

Hungary’s Minister for European Union Affairs, Janos Boka, is paying a working visit in Cyprus, at the invitation of the Deputy Minister for European Affairs, Marilena Raouna, with whom he will have talks on Tuesday.

According to an announcement, circulated by PIO, the Hungarian Minister of European Affairs will visit part of the walled city in Nicosia on Tuesday morning, touring along the cease-fire line, while accompanied by Raouna.

Later today, Raouna and Boka will have a meeting and then hold extended talks at the Presidential Palace.

It is noted that among the issues that will be discussed are the plans of the Republic of Cyprus in view of the Presidency of the Council of the EU in 2026, as well as issues that will concern the upcoming Hungarian Presidency.

At noon, Raouna will host a working lunch in honour of Boka, who in the afternoon will visit the Search and Rescue Coordination Centre in Larnaca, where he will be informed about the course and plans included in the “Amalthia” project.
