House President and Delegation to Participate in European Parliamentary Week in Brussels

Brussels: President of the House of Representatives Annita Demetriou and a parliamentary delegation will travel to Brussels to participate in the European Parliamentary Week, which is co-organized by the European Parliament and the House of Representatives, in the framework of the Cyprus Presidency of the Council of the EU.

According to Cyprus News Agency, on the sidelines of the European Parliamentary Week, the President of the House of Representatives will have separate meetings with President of the European Parliament Roberta Metsola and President of the European People's Party Manfred Weber.

Demetriou will also be the keynote speaker at a discussion on 'Parliamentary Leadership for an Autonomous Union, Open to the World', organized by the Women Political Leaders Network (WPL).

It is noted that the European Parliamentary Week, which includes the Conference on the European Semester and the Interparliamentary Conference on Stability, Economic Coordination and Governance in the European Union, is co-organised by the European Parliament and the House of Representatives, at the European Parliament, on 23 and 24 February, in the context of the parliamentary dimension of the ongoing Cyprus Presidency of the Council of the EU.

The two Conferences will be addressed by the President of the European Parliament, Roberta Metsola, and the President of the House of Representatives, Annita Demetriou.

Parallel meetings of three European Parliament Committees, as well as two plenary sessions, will be held as part of the proceedings.
