Nicosia: The Cyprus Department of Meteorology has issued its forecast for the sea area surrounding Cyprus, predicting mainly fine weather with increasing cloud cover over the west part of the region. The forecast, which covers an area extending 8 kilometers seawards, indicates that weak high pressure is currently influencing the area.
According to Cyprus News Agency, the atmospheric pressure at the time of the forecast issuance is recorded at 1017 hPa, with a sea surface temperature of 26°C. The weather is expected to remain good in terms of visibility, and no warnings have been issued for the period from 0600 on October 19, 2025, to 0600 on October 20, 2025.
The forecast details the expected wind and sea conditions for each coastal area of Cyprus. On the West Coast, winds will vary from west to northwest, with states of the sea ranging from smooth to slight, and becoming slight to moderate by night. The South Coast will experience winds shifting from northwest to northeast in the morning, moving to southwest to west in the afternoon, and west by night, with sea conditions starting smooth to slight and becoming slightly moderate near the coast. For the East Coast, winds will transition from west to northwest in the morning to south to southwest in the afternoon, maintaining smooth to slight sea conditions. The North Coast will see southwest to northwest winds, with sea states from smooth to slight and occasionally becoming slight to moderate.
