Nicosia: The Cyprus Department of Meteorology has issued a new Yellow Warning for isolated heavy thunderstorms, expected to affect parts of the island on Saturday. The alert will remain in effect from 12:00 noon to 6:00 p.m. local time.
According to Cyprus News Agency, the storms are forecast to impact various areas intermittently, with an increased risk over mountainous regions and inland areas. During storm events, hail is possible, and surface winds will vary in direction and may strengthen significantly. Rainfall rates could exceed 35 millimetres per hour.
