The Ministry of Health recommends vaccinations with the updated vaccine against COVID-19 as well as with the flu vaccine, mainly for people over 60 and people with underlying diseases, noting that vaccination is the most effective way to prevent and protect against serious illness.
A press release by the Ministry says that due to the outbreak in recent weeks, it recommends in particular that the residents of nursing homes, as well as other closed structures for the care and accommodation of the elderly and vulnerable groups take preventive and protection measures. It also recommends that they be vaccinated against COVID-19 with the updated vaccine, after consent from relatives where necessary.
Furthermore, it notes that within the next few days mobile vaccination units will visit all nursing homes and closed structures for the simultaneous vaccination against influenza and COVID-19 or only against COVID-19.
It recommends that the public takes preventive measures against respiratory viral infections such a
s hand hygiene, systematic ventilation of closed areas, isolation of the sick, continuous use of a mask especially in crowded places, limiting contacts with vulnerable people and carrying out diagnostic tests.
The Ministry says that the implementation of preventive protection measures and vaccination are important for the protection of all and especially the vulnerable groups of the population.
