Hamas receives list of Palestinian detainees to be released Monday from Israeli jails

The Palestinian resistance movement Hamas said on Monday it had received a list of Palestinian detainees set to be released later in the day from Israeli jails in exchange for releasing Israeli captives held in Gaza.

The Israelis and Palestinians are expected to be released later Monday as part of the fourth batch of the hostage swap deal between Israel and Hamas under a continuing humanitarian pause agreement.

The Hamas group said the list includes three women and 30 minors.

It identified the three Palestinian women as Yasmeen Shaban and Etaf Jaradat from the West Bank city of Jenin and Jad Hammad from occupied East Jerusalem.

In exchange for their release, Hamas is also due to release 11 Israelis held in Gaza.

A Qatari-mediated four-day humanitarian pause took effect Friday, temporarily halting Israeli attacks on Gaza.

An additional two days were added late Monday to the humanitarian pause, according to Qatar and Hamas.

Israel launched a massive military campaign in the Gaza Strip following a cross-
border attack by Hamas on Oct. 7.

It has since killed at least 14,854 Palestinians, including 6,150 children and over 4,000 women, according to health authorities in the enclave.

The official Israeli death toll stands at 1,200.
