Greece to Represent Cyprus for Schengen Visas in 19 Third Countries

Athens: Greece will represent the Republic of Cyprus in the issuance of Schengen visas in 19 third countries as Cyprus moves towards full accession into the Schengen area.

According to Cyprus News Agency, the Foreign Ministers of Greece and Cyprus formalized this arrangement through a Joint Declaration signed on Wednesday in Athens. This event was part of the 3rd Cyprus-Greece Intergovernmental Summit held in the Greek capital.

In addition to the signing ceremony, the Foreign Ministers of Greece and Cyprus held a private meeting to discuss bilateral relations and coordination on issues related to the upcoming meeting on the Cyprus issue under the UN’s auspices, as well as Cyprus’s upcoming presidency of the Council of the EU in the first half of 2026.

The meeting was also attended by Greece’s Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Alexandra Papadopoulou, and Cyprus’s Deputy Minister of European Affairs, Marilena Raouna.
