The Israeli authorities on Sunday agreed to resume the export of goods from the Gaza Strip to the West Bank and Israel after a three-day ban.
A number of trucks loaded with various goods left the Gaza Strip via the Karm Abu Salem commercial crossing, heading to the West Bank and Israel on Sunday morning, witnesses told Anadolu.
The Karm Abu Salem commercial crossing was closed to the export of goods from the Gaza Strip on Monday following a reported attempt to smuggle explosives, the Israeli Army Radio confirmed on Friday.
The Palestinian government and civil institutions had earlier warned of the Israeli decision’s ‘catastrophic effects’ on the living conditions of the Gaza residents.
Karm Abu Salem is the only commercial crossing into Gaza, through which construction materials, goods, fuel, and foodstuffs are brought in.
