Nicosia: France's High Commissioner for Children, Sarah El Hari, will be in Nicosia on Thursday, May 21, to participate in the high-level European conference on 'No Child Left Behind: Promoting Children's Wellbeing and Combating Child Poverty' held in the framework of the Cypriot Presidency of the Council of the European Union.
According to Cyprus News Agency, the High Commissioner will participate in a roundtable discussion dedicated to the implementation of the European Pledge for Children, together with several European Ministers. The discussions will focus on ways to ensure the effective protection of the most vulnerable children, in a context characterized by the social and digital challenges they face.
On the sidelines of the conference, the High Commissioner will visit the French Cypriot school in Limassol to discuss the protection of children from the effects of digital media use with students and teaching staff. She will also visit the Alliance Fran§aise to be informed about the educational and cultural activities aimed at French-speaking youth, the press release concluded.
