Nicosia: The French embassy in Nicosia has conveyed its heartfelt condolences to all those impacted by the recent maritime tragedies at Cape Greco and off the coast of occupied Keryneia over the weekend.
According to Cyprus News Agency, the embassy expressed its sympathy through a post on X, stating, "In these moments of great sadness, our thoughts are with the victims, their families, and those injured. We hope for the safe recovery of those missing." The tragic incidents began on Saturday when a boat sank at Cape Greco due to severe weather conditions, resulting in the death of one person. The following day, Sunday, saw even greater losses when a ferry-boat capsized off the coast of occupied Keryneia, leading to the deaths of eight passengers and leaving at least 20 others missing.
