French and Cypriot Officials Highlight Strong Bilateral Relations

Nicosia: Chairman of the Parliamentary Committee on Foreign and European Affairs, Harris Georgiades, and Ambassador of France to Cyprus, Cl©lia Chevrier-Kolacko, have underlined the excellent level of the Cyprus-France relations.

According to Cyprus News Agency, a press release by the House of Representatives indicates that during a meeting, both officials noted the upcoming upgrade of the strategic agreement between the two states. They emphasized opportunities for further expansion and strengthening of bilateral cooperation in areas of mutual interest, including defense and security.

The press release also highlighted the importance of further strengthening inter-parliamentary dialogue and cooperation, at both bilateral and European levels, particularly during the Cyprus Presidency of the Council of the European Union in 2026.

Furthermore, Georgiades and Chevrier-Kolacko exchanged views on issues of regional and international interest, stressing the need for a more active role of the European Union in the Middle East and Eastern Mediterranean region.
