Nicosia: Foreign Affairs Minister Constantinos Kombos has welcomed the announced ceasefire by the US and Iran saying that it is a critical step in returning to diplomacy. "I commend the announced ceasefire by the US and Iran as a critical step in returning to diplomacy," he wrote on 'X'.

According to Cyprus News Agency, this opportunity, Kombos added, "must be seized in order to sustain de-escalation and to take those steps needed for a comprehensive and lasting way ahead."

"We must all contribute to the diplomatic efforts aiming to advance dialogue for the benefit of our region and further beyond," he concluded.
