Flights to Cyprus Diverted Due to Severe Weather

Nicosia: Several flights bound for Cyprus were diverted to other airports due to severe weather that began affecting the island on Saturday morning, Hermes Airports Director of Aviation Development and Communications Maria Kouroupi told the CNA.

According to Cyprus News Agency, no flights were cancelled despite the adverse weather conditions. Kouroupi noted that as the severe weather is moving away, the aircraft are departing from the airports where they had been temporarily stationed and are returning to Cyprus.

A total of 11 flights were diverted, with 10 initially bound for Larnaca and one destined for Paphos. In addition, some departing flights experienced minor delays due to the extreme weather conditions. By Saturday afternoon, the situation had returned to normal.
