Nicosia: The first Tripartite Meeting of the European Open Science Cloud (EOSC) was recently held in Cyprus, bringing together local and European stakeholders to align priorities, assess progress, and define the country's evolving role in EOSC and the broader Open Science framework.
According to Cyprus News Agency, the National Tripartite Meeting was organised by the Deputy Ministry of Research, Innovation and Digital Policy in collaboration with the University of Cyprus Library, serving as the national OpenAIRE NOAD hub and host of the event.
The meeting offered a structured space for dialogue between the national community and representatives of the Tripartite Scheme, including the European Commission, the EOSC Steering Board, and EOSC-A. The discussions at the meeting "outlined a multi-layered picture of Cyprus's path towards Open Science and its participation in the EOSC, from strategic and political dimensions to institutional, technical, and infrastructural realities, contributing to the clarification of both the opportunities and challenges that are shaping up for the coming period."
The event confirmed Cyprus's commitment to the EOSC and highlighted the importance of consistent investment in policy development, strong institutional coordination, capacity building, and further strengthening of the national digital infrastructure.
