Final turnout at 72.2% in second round of Presidential Elections 2023

The final turnout in the second round of the 2023 presidential elections in the Republic of Cyprus stands at 72.2%, based on the latest figures available, meaning 405,086 citizens went to the polls to exercise their right to vote.

As announced by Chief Returning Officer Costas Constantinou, the turnout is increased by 0.2% compared to 72% in the first round of the elections, held last Sunday.

However, he said that the final turnout in the second round of the Presidential Elections of 2018 was 73.1%, thus there was a slight increase in abstention by 0.9 percentage points. The final turnout was 65.7% in the 2021 parliamentary elections.

The turnout by district in the current elections was 72.9% in Nicosia, 70.4% in Limassol, 72.2% in Famagusta, 72.5% in Larnaca, 74.7% in Paphos and 67.9% in the polls abroad.
