The 5th Tripartite Meeting between Cyprus, Egypt and Greece on defence and security issues takes place on Monday in Cairo at the level of Ministers of Defence.
According to a press release by the Ministry of Defence, the meeting is the outcomeof the excellent cooperation of the three countries in recent years, which is an example of cooperation between regional and other friendly countries.
Ministers of Defence of Cyprus, Egypt and Greece, Charalambos Petrides, General Mohamed Ahmed Zaki andNikolaos Panagiotopoulos, respectively, will have the opportunity to discuss how to further strengthen their cooperation for security and stability in the region.
They are also expected to discuss about the latest developments in Ukraine, and the challenges that the Eastern Mediterranean and North Africa are faced with, which undermine peace and stability.
In the framework of his visit to Cairo, the Cypriot Minister will also hold a meeting with his Egyptian counterpart at a bilateral level to assess the two states’ cooperation and discuss ways to further enhance it.
