Nicosia: The Department of Meteorology issued a double yellow warning for extreme maximum temperatures, specifically targeting Wednesday night and Thursday afternoon. The warnings are set to address the significant temperature fluctuations expected to impact the region.
According to Cyprus News Agency, the first warning will come into effect from 9:00 p.m. on Wednesday and last until 6:00 a.m. on Thursday. During this period, the minimum temperature for inland areas is anticipated to stay above 26 degrees. This unusual nighttime warmth is part of a broader pattern of extreme temperatures.
For Thursday, the second warning will be active from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. During these hours, the maximum temperature in inland areas is predicted to soar to 40 degrees. The Department of Meteorology's alerts aim to prepare residents for the extreme weather conditions and encourage necessary precautions.
