European University of Cyprus Research Project Achieves Third Place in China

Nicosia: The joint research team from European University Cyprus and Minjiang University has achieved an honorable third place in the national finals of research competitions held in early January in China. The project, submitted by the International Digital Economy College (IDEC) of Minjiang University, highlights the strategic partnership between the European University Cyprus and this Chinese institution.

According to Cyprus News Agency, the project is led by Professor LIN Zhongyan, Dean of IDEC, with Demetra Englezou, a lecturer and lead coordinator of European University Cyprus programs at IDEC, playing a pivotal role in the research team. The focus of the project is the development of a green agro-industry in rural areas, emphasizing investments in green financing and the promotion of e-commerce.

The project’s advancement to the national finals in China underscores a significant achievement in the collaboration between the two universities. The research employs AI algorithms, image recognition, and simulation through Unity3D to combine sustainable development with innovative educational methods.

With a total funding of over 265,000 Euros, the project holds prospects for global application, promoting sustainable development and green reform of the agricultural economy.
