European University Cyprus Awarded Best Workplace for Women 2026

Nicosia: European University Cyprus (EUC) has been recognized as Cyprus Best Workplaces for Women 2026 by the international organization Great Place to Work®, highlighting its commitment to gender equality and inclusive leadership in the higher education sector in Cyprus.

According to Cyprus News Agency, this accolade is based on stringent, data-driven criteria that evaluate aspects such as fair treatment and equal opportunities, representation of women in leadership roles, pay equity, merit-based promotions, work-life balance, and overall levels of trust in the workplace environment.

At EUC, women significantly contribute to all levels of the institution, including executive leadership, administration, academic excellence, and research innovation. The Director of Human Resources at EUC, Ms. Loukia Polygerinou-Tzyrka, emphasized the university's dedication to women's well-being and professional advancement, stating that this recognition affirms their commitment to a respectful and equal-opportunity workplace.

Ms. Polygerinou-Tzyrka also mentioned that gender equality is part of a broader framework of sustainable governance and institutional responsibility at EUC. The university, one of Cyprus's leading institutions, offers diverse academic programs across seven Schools, serving over 12,600 students from 80 countries.

This distinction further solidifies EUC's reputation as an employer of choice, alongside its Great Place to Work® certification. In 2025, EUC was certified by the Department of Labour Relations for implementing best practices in gender equality, recognizing its non-discriminatory human resource management, recruitment, promotion, training, and compensation policies.

EUC's approach underscores that excellence in academia also includes fostering an inclusive and growth-oriented working environment.
