European stocks closed lower Wednesday, except in Italy and Spain. The STOXX Europe 600, which includes around 90% of the market capitalization of the European market in 17 countries, was down 0.88 points, or 0.19%, to finish at 460.80. The UK’s FTSE 100 fell 3.76 points, or 0.05%, to end the session at 7,624. Germany’s DAX 30 lost 31 points, or 0.2%, to 15,960, while France’s CAC 40 trimmed six points, or 0.09%, to 7,202. Italy’s FTSE MIB, on the other hand, increased 18 points, or 0.07%, to 27,055 at the final bell. Spain’s IBEX 35 rose 49 points, or 0.53%, to close at 9,359.
