ISTANBUL: European stocks closed lower Monday, except in Italy.
The STOXX Europe 600, which includes around 90% of the market capitalization of the European market in 17 countries, was down 0.24 points, or 0.05%, to finish at 483.69.
The UK’s FTSE 100 fell 4.68 points, or 0.04%, to 7,612. France’s CAC 40 trimmed 2.3 points, or 0.03%, to 7,589.
Germany’s DAX 30 lost 14 points, or 0.08%, to end the session at 16,904.
Spain’s IBEX 35 was the worst performer of the day, plummeting 121 points, or 1.21%, to 9,941.
Italy’s FTSE MIB, on the other hand, jumped 234 points, or 0.76%, to 30,952 at the final bell.
