Nicosia: The European Commission has sanctioned an £84 million (DKK 629 million) scheme to bolster cleantech manufacturing capacity in Denmark, aligning with the Clean Industrial Deal objectives. This initiative aims to facilitate the transition towards a net-zero economy, supported under the Clean Industrial Deal State Aid Framework (CISAF), which the Commission adopted on June 25, 2025.
According to Cyprus News Agency, this scheme is accessible to companies investing in manufacturing capacity for net-zero technologies and their main components, as specified in Annex II of the CISAF. It also covers aid for producing new or recycled critical raw materials required for these technologies. The support will be distributed as direct grants, available until December 31, 2026.
The Commission determined that the scheme complies with CISAF conditions, as it promotes the production of clean technologies, their components, and essential raw materials. It assessed the scheme as necessary to expedite the shift towards a net-zero economy and aid the advancement of key economic activities essential for implementing the Clean Industrial Deal. Moreover, the Commission deemed the scheme proportionate, with the aid restricted to the essential minimum, ensuring minimal impact on competition and trade between Member States. Consequently, the scheme received approval under EU State aid regulations.
