The EU is ready to act to alleviate short term difficulties for the citizens and make EU more resilient as a reaction to the rise of energy prices, Myrto Zambarta Head, European Commission Representation in Cyprus has said.
Addressing the 17th Cyprus Summit of the Economist, Zambarta said, among others, that “we are aware that uncertainty remains substantial, recovery remains heavily depended on the evolution of the pandemic, both within and without the EU, energy prices most notably for natural gas and electricity are expected to damp and drive growth momentum in the short-term”.
She stressed that “we are watching everything very closely in the EU and we are ready to act to ensure not only to alleviate short term difficulties for the citizens but also that we use that challenge to make the EU more resilient and more competitive and more indepen
