Nicosia: The ERATOSTHENES Centre of Excellence at the Cyprus University of Technology (CUT) has joined Women in Aerospace Europe (WIA-Europe) as a Bronze Corporate Member. This membership supports a European community focused on promoting collaboration, diversity, and equal participation within the aerospace and space sectors.
According to Cyprus News Agency, the ERATOSTHENES Centre formalised its membership during the Greek Space Tech Forum 2026, hosted at the Athens Conservatoire. On 8 July 2026, the membership was confirmed by Professor Diofantos Hadjimitsis, Managing Director of the ERATOSTHENES Centre, and Dr Christina Giannopapa, President of Women in Aerospace Europe (WIA-Europe).
The event was also attended by Dr Andreas Christofe, Administration Manager, and Professor Ioannis Gitas, Visiting Professor at the ERATOSTHENES Centre of Excellence. Dr Christiana Papoutsa, Coordinator of the Environment and Climate Department at the Centre, will act as the liaison for its collaboration with Women in Aerospace Europe (WIA-Europe).
According to the Center, Women in Aerospace Europe (WIA-Europe) is a non-profit organisation committed to enhancing the role of women and promoting diversity, inclusion, and equal opportunities across the aerospace and space sectors throughout Europe.
By joining the WIA-Europe community, the ERATOSTHENES Centre of Excellence strengthens its dedication to creating an inclusive environment, ensuring equal opportunities for growth, collaboration, and contributions to the advancement of the European space community, the statement concludes.
