Energy Minister to Attend East Mediterranean Gas Forum in Athens

Athens:Minister of Energy, Commerce and Industry, Michael Damianos, is set to travel to Athens on Tuesday evening to participate in a conference organized by the East Mediterranean Gas Forum (EMGF) and HELLENiQ ENERGY. The event, scheduled for Wednesday, will focus on 'Accelerating the Eastern Mediterranean as an energy corridor: From dialogue to corridor realisation'.

According to Cyprus News Agency, Damianos will engage in separate meetings with the Greek Minister for the Environment and Energy, Stavros Papastavrou, and the Egyptian Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources, Karim Badawi. A trilateral meeting with both counterparts is also planned on the sidelines of the conference.

The minister will be involved in a discussion titled 'Strategic Voices Shaping the Eastern Mediterranean Energy Corridor', where he and other ministers and industry representatives will explore the prospects for exploiting the region's energy resources and further developing it as an energy corridor.

Damianos is expected to return to Cyprus on the afternoon of Wednesday, October 7.
