ELAM calls on its supporters to vote “as they deem fit” in second round of presidential elections

As a responsible patriotic party, we call on the people who supported our candidacy, next Sunday to vote as they deem fit, President of the far right ELAM party, Christos Christou said on Thursday evening, noting at the same time that “our conscience and our concern for the future of the country, do not allow us to leave the governance of the country in the hands of AKEL for the next five years.”

Christou states in his video message that last Sunday the citizens sent their own messages. He adds that respecting the popular verdict, “as previously announced we sent both remaining candidates a joint letter with twelve questions”. He notes that Nikos Christodoulides responded by submitting his own governance programme which is “not acceptable”.

He added that on the other hand, Andreas Mavroyiannis “chose not to respond to our letter”. In this way, he continues, unfortunately, he confirmed his complete submission to the orders of the AKEL leadership.

“As a responsible patriotic party, we call on the people who supported our candidacy with their free will, to vote with their conscience next Sunday”, Christou notes.

He also adds that “our conscience, however, and our concern for the future of the country, do not allow us to leave the governance of the country in the hands of AKEL for the next five years”.
