Dot.on.the.Map ?ndustry Days, the co-production, training and networking platform for film industry professionals of the 21st Cyprus Film Days International Festival, has announced the 8 (eight) feature length fiction film projects to be pitched in its co-production forum, Dot.on.the.Map Meeting Point. In a press release issued by Dot.on.the.Map ?ndustry Days it is noted that eight teams of producers – directors with projects originating from countries of the Mediterranean region will pitch their new feature length fiction film projects to representatives of the international film industry. Following group works and individual meetings, the filmmakers will take steps towards forming future artistic and financial collaborations with other filmmakers, international producers, financiers, sales agents, broadcasters, distributors, festival and film fund representatives. The projects which have been selected for the year 2023 (in alphabetical order) are ”Available Now”, ”Checkpoints”, ”Eastern Mediterranean”, ”Grey Glow”, ”Rabies”, ”Smaragda, I got thick skin and I can’t jump”, ”Wagako” and ”When I Close My Eyes I See Your Eyes”. The three-member international jury panel that will deliberate upon the awards comprises prominent film professionals from the international film industry. This year’s jury members are Amanda Livanou, Dries Phlypo and Veselka Kiryakova. The pitching trainers are development experts Isabelle Fauvel and Hakim Mao. The pitching session will be presented to industry experts with significant activity in the international film industry. Cypriot film producer – director Danae Stylianou is heading the Dot.on.the.Map Industry Days. This year’s awards are the Cyprus Film Commission – Invest Cyprus Award (accompanied by the monetary prize of pound 1,000), the P.S. Movies and Stories Award (accompanied by lighting and grip equipment rental worth up to pound 4,000 offered by P.S. Movies and Stories Cinema Equipment Rental Ltd), the Best Debut Project Pitch (accompanied by the monetary prize of pound 500 offered by the Directors Guild of Cyprus to the director of a debut feature length fiction film project), the ?sterisk* Award (consulting services on the project’s financing and marketing strategies worth of pound 1,400, offered by ?sterisk* Films and Greek film producer and consultant Vicky Miha), and the Agora Networking Award, offered by Thessaloniki International Film Festival (2 – 12 November 2023) to the producer of a winning project. The award includes accommodation and free market accreditation. The pitching session will take place at the Rialto Theatre on Friday, 28 April 2023, at 10:30 a.m. and is open exclusively to accredited industry professionals.
