The European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control (ECDC) will provide guidance to Cyprus in relation to the development of a vaccination strategy for the country`s population during the next winter season, Minister of Health Michael Hadjipantela and ECDC Director Dr Andrea Ammon agreed during a meeting in Brussels on Tuesday, on the margins of the Employment, Social Policy, Health and Consumer Affairs Council meeting.
It was also agreed that the ECDC and the Ministry of Health will develop their cooperation regarding the prevention and treatment of nosocomial infections.
On Wednesday, Hadjipantela is expected to meet with the French Renew MEP Véronique Trillet-Lenoir, who is a member of the parliamentary committees on the Environment, Public Health and Food Safety (ENVI) as well as the Special Committee on the COVID-19 pandemic (COVI).
