Director General for Development Theodosis Tsiolas departs for Luxembourg on Wednesday in order to represent the Minister of Finance at the General Affairs Council for Cohesion Policy, which takes place on Thursday.
According to a press release issued by the Ministry of Finance, during the Council, Ministers will discuss the challenges facing the EU development investment sector, as well as ways in which decisions and planning can be improved.
The discussion follows the publication of a relevant Report of the European Commission, on the basis of which relevant conclusions will be issued. The relevant Ministers will also discuss the economic implications of the war in Ukraine, especially in relation to the problems posed by the implementation of development investments through the EU Cohesion Funds.
On the sidelines of the Council, Tsiolas will participate in an informal working breakfast, for the preparation of a proposal for the contribution of Cohesion Policy in mitigating the consequences of the multidimensional crisis.
