The Deputy Minister of Social Welfare, Anastasia Anthousi, paid Jordan a visit between December 7-8, representing the President of the Republic at an event held by King Abdullah II, for the inauguration of the development district of the area that surrounds the part of the Baptism of Jesus Christ.
A press release says that Anthousi was received by King Abdullah, who conveyed his greetings to the President of the Republic, Nikos Anastasiades. She also had a meeting with the Patriarch of Jerusalem Theophilos and the Archbishop of Jordan Christophoros.
On the sidelines of her visit to Jordan, the Deputy Minister had a meeting on Thursday with the Minister of Social Development of Jordan and Head of the Inter-Ministerial Commission for the Emancipation of Women, Wafa Bani Mustafa.
The two Ministers discussed issues of common interest, as well as ways to develop bilateral relations in the field of social welfare.
