Defence Ministry Representatives Attend EU Defence Policy and Military Mobility Meetings in Warsaw

Warsaw: Representatives of the Ministry of Defence, led by the Head of the Defence Diplomacy Department, participated in the EU Defence Policy Directors’ Meeting and the High-Level Conference on Military Mobility, which took place in Warsaw from 12 to 14 March 2025.

According to Cyprus News Agency, during their presence in Warsaw on 12 March, they met with representatives of the Polish Ministry of Defence, with whom they discussed issues related to the Ministry’s preparations for the Presidency of the Council of the EU in 2026.

As stated, the next day MoD representatives participated in the EU-NATO High Level Event on Military Mobility. During the discussion, the need to strengthen the defence and deterrence capabilities of the European Union was underlined, while in the same context the crucial role of Military Mobility, which is a key factor in the efforts to upgrade security and operational readiness of both the EU and NATO, was analysed.

It is added that a meeting of Defence Policy Directors took place on 14 March, with the main topic of discussion being the EU’s military support to Ukraine.

Member States representatives exchanged views on the decision to continue and strengthen support, and also discussed issues related to the forthcoming publication of the White Paper on the Future of European Defence, as well as ways to improve the EU’s response to hybrid threats, the statement concludes.
