Cyprus secured that it will host three major international swimming events in 2025, during the European Aquatics Conference that took place on Friday and Saturday in Belfast.
According to a press release issued by the Cyprus Swimming Federation (CSF), these are the first leg of the European Aquatics Open Water Swimming Cup, the World Aquatics Junior Swimming Championships and the Mediterranean Swimming Cup (COMEN).
The Cypriot Federation’s representatives, its President Alexandros Christoforou and its member Petros Aresti, sought and secured the hosting of these high-level events, the press release added.
Furthermore, Christoforou met with European Aquatics President Antonio Silva who said he will visit Cyprus and attend the Open Water Swimming Cup to be held in May, in the coastal tourist resort of Protaras, in Famagusta district.
