Cyprus Weather Update: Low Pressure Brings Cloudy Skies and Thunderstorms

Nicosia: Low pressure is currently impacting the sea area of Cyprus, leading to weather conditions characterized by intermittent cloudiness, local showers, and isolated thunderstorms.

According to Cyprus News Agency, these weather phenomena are expected to weaken late in the afternoon. There is a possibility of hail during thunderstorms, and dust may occasionally be suspended in the air.

Visibility is generally good, but it may become moderate to poor during showers. The sea surface temperature is recorded at 18°C, with no specific warnings issued for the area.

On the west coast, the morning will see southeast to southwest winds ranging from 3 to 4 on the Beaufort scale, gradually shifting to south to southwest winds of 4 to 5. The sea state will vary from moderate to rough, becoming locally moderate. In the afternoon, winds will shift to southwest to northwest, maintaining a strength of 4 to 5, with local areas experiencing winds of 5. The sea will remain moderate to rough, with some areas experiencing locally moderate conditions. At night, winds will range from southwest to northwest at 3 to 4, with some areas starting with west to northwest winds of 4 to 5. The sea state will be moderate, with local areas starting as moderate to rough.

For the south coast, the morning will bring northeast to southeast winds of 3 to 4, with the sea state being slight to moderate, and locally moderate initially. In the afternoon, winds will shift to southeast to southwest at 3 to 4, gradually becoming southwest to west. The sea will remain slight to moderate. At night, the wind will be southwest to northwest at 3 to 4, with some areas initially experiencing 4 to 5. The sea state will be slight, with local areas starting as slight to moderate.

On the east coast, the morning will feature southwest to northwest winds at 3 to 4, later shifting to southeast to southwest, with a slight sea state. In the afternoon, winds will transition to south to southwest at 3 to 4, gradually shifting to southwest to northwest, while the sea remains slight. At night, winds will shift to southwest to northwest at 3 to 4, gradually becoming southwest to west at 4 to 5, with the sea state remaining slight.

The north coast will experience southeast to southwest winds at 3 to 4 in the morning, with local areas having east winds of 4 to 5, resulting in a moderate sea state, with some areas being moderate to rough. In the afternoon, winds will become southwest to west at 3 to 4, with some local areas experiencing winds of 5, maintaining a moderate sea state, with some areas being moderate to rough. At night, winds will be southwest to west at 4 to 5, later near the coast at 3 to 4, resulting in a slight to moderate sea state, later becoming slight near the coast.
