Cyprus Weather Update: Isolated Showers and Thunderstorms Expected Over Coastal Areas

Nicosia: The Cyprus Department of Meteorology has issued a forecast for the sea area of Cyprus, indicating that weak low pressure will influence weather conditions, with isolated showers and thunderstorms anticipated primarily over the eastern and northern regions. The forecast period extends from 1800 on November 25 until 1800 on November 26, 2025, covering an area 8 kilometers seawards.

According to Cyprus News Agency, atmospheric pressure at the time of the report was measured at 1015 hPa. Visibility is expected to be good, though it may reduce to moderate or poor in areas experiencing showers. The sea surface temperature is reported to be 23°C. No warnings have been issued for this period.

For the west coast, winds during the night will shift from west to northwest at Beaufort scale 4, gradually changing to northwest to north at 3 to 4. The sea state is anticipated to be slight to moderate, gradually becoming slight. By morning, winds will primarily be northwest to north at scale 3, moving to northwest at 3 to 4, with a slight sea state gradually becoming smooth to slight. In the afternoon, west to northwest winds at 3 to 4 are expected, with the sea remaining smooth to slight.

On the south coast, night winds will be west to northwest at 3 to 4, soon shifting to northwest to north at scale 3. The sea will be slight, becoming smooth to slight. Morning conditions will see northwest winds at scale 3, soon turning variable, with a smooth to slight sea state. Afternoon conditions will feature southwest to west winds at 3 to 4, with the sea remaining smooth to slight.

The east coast will experience west to northwest winds at 3 to 4 during the night, with the sea state smooth to slight, locally slight. Morning winds will transition to southwest to northwest at scale 3, with offshore winds variable at 3 to 4, maintaining a smooth to slight sea. In the afternoon, southeast to southwest winds at 3 to 4 are expected, with the sea staying smooth to slight.

On the north coast, overnight winds will shift from southwest to west at 3 to 4, gradually changing to south to southwest at scale 3. The sea state is anticipated to be slight to moderate, gradually becoming slight. During the morning, southwest to northwest winds at scale 3 will prevail, with the sea becoming slight, and near the coast, smooth to slight. Afternoon conditions will see southwest to northwest winds at 3 to 4, with the sea smooth to slight and locally offshore slight.
