Nicosia: The Cyprus Department of Meteorology has issued its latest forecast for the sea area surrounding Cyprus, predicting mainly fine weather with some localized cloud coverage and a risk of isolated showers over the next 24 hours. The forecast covers an area extending 8 kilometers seawards.
According to Cyprus News Agency, the atmospheric pressure at the time of the forecast was recorded at 1014 hPa, indicating a weak low-pressure system affecting the region. Despite this, visibility is expected to remain good, only becoming moderate during any showers. The sea surface temperature is noted to be 25°C, with no warnings in place for the area.
The forecast details the expected wind patterns and sea conditions around Cyprus’s coasts. On the west coast, winds are expected to shift from southeast to southwest in the morning, maintaining a smooth to slight sea state throughout the day and night. The south coast will see winds from the west to northwest in the morning, gradually changing to southwest, with slig
ht sea conditions anticipated in the afternoon.
For the east coast, morning winds will be from the southwest to northwest, increasing in strength in the afternoon and maintaining a slight sea state. The north coast is expected to experience southeast to southwest winds in the morning, gradually turning southwest to northwest, with smooth to slight sea conditions forecasted throughout the day.
Overall, the Cyprus Department of Meteorology anticipates calm sea conditions around Cyprus with some localized cloud coverage, offering favorable weather for maritime activities.
