Cyprus Weather Forecast Predicts Smooth Sailing Across Coastal Regions

Nicosia: The Cyprus Department of Meteorology has released its forecast for the sea area surrounding Cyprus, covering the period from midday on July 31, 2026, to midday on August 1, 2026. Current atmospheric pressure sits at 1003 hPa, indicating that a seasonal low-pressure system is influencing the region. The weather is expected to remain primarily fine, with good visibility and no warnings issued.

According to Cyprus News Agency, the sea surface temperature is currently 28°C. Along the west coast, winds are anticipated to shift from southwest to northwest in the afternoon, maintaining a speed of 3 to 4 Beaufort, resulting in a smooth to slightly rough sea. During the night, winds will transition from northwest to northeast, before shifting again in the morning to a variable pattern. The sea state is forecasted to become smooth to slight.

The south coast will experience a similar pattern, with winds moving from south to southwest in the afternoon and gradually becoming locally southwest. This will result in smooth to slightly choppy seas. At night, winds will shift from southwest to west and later to northwest, with the sea conditions remaining smooth to slight. In the morning, winds are expected to vary from northeast to southeast, gradually shifting to southeast to southwest.

For the east coast, afternoon winds will transition from southeast to southwest, gradually becoming more southerly, with smooth to slightly rough sea conditions. During the night, the wind direction will change from southwest to northwest, while the morning will see a shift from northwest to northeast, leading to smooth to slightly rough seas.

On the north coast, afternoon winds will range from southwest to northwest, with some local areas experiencing winds up to 4 Beaufort, contributing to smooth to slightly rough seas. At night, the winds will change to southeast to southwest. By morning, winds will again shift from southwest to northwest, maintaining a smooth to slightly rough sea state.
