Nicosia: The Cyprus Department of Meteorology has issued a weather forecast for the sea area of Cyprus, predicting mainly cloudy conditions with local showers and a risk of isolated thunderstorms from the evening of December 23 until the evening of December 24, 2025. The forecast covers an area extending 8 kilometers seawards, with atmospheric pressure recorded at 1014 hPa at the time of the report.
According to Cyprus News Agency, a weak low-pressure system is influencing the region, leading to the anticipated weather conditions. Visibility is expected to remain good, although it may become moderate to poor during showers. The sea surface temperature is projected to be around 21°C, with no warnings issued for the period.
The forecast details specific wind patterns and sea conditions for different coastal areas. On the west coast, winds will start from the northeast at Beaufort scale 3 during the night, shifting to east and southeast throughout the morning and afternoon while maintaining a smooth to slight sea state. Similar conditions are expected along the south coast, with winds transitioning from northwest to northeast during the night to east and southeast by afternoon.
The east coast will experience slight to smooth sea conditions, with winds starting from northwest to northeast at Beaufort scale 3 to 4 during the night, settling to east 3 by morning and afternoon. Meanwhile, the north coast will initially have northeast to southeast winds at Beaufort scale 3 to 4, shifting to east and southeast by afternoon, with sea conditions expected to be slight, becoming smooth to slight later.
