Nicosia: The Cyprus Department of Meteorology has issued its latest forecast for the sea area surrounding Cyprus, effective from noon on May 31, 2026, until noon on June 1, 2026. The forecast, which covers an area extending 8 kilometers seawards, indicates mainly fine weather with some local low cloud coverage and possible mist or fog patches during dawn.
According to Cyprus News Agency, the atmospheric pressure at the time of the forecast's issuance was recorded at 1015 hPa. Visibility is expected to be good, although it might reduce to moderate or poor in areas affected by mist. The sea surface temperature is currently 21°C, and no warnings have been issued for the forecast period.
The forecast details wind patterns and sea conditions across the four coasts of Cyprus. On the West Coast, winds are expected to shift from southeast to southwest in the afternoon, later transitioning to north to northeast by night, and varying in the morning. The sea state will remain smooth to slight throughout. Similar conditions are predicted for the South Coast, with afternoon winds moving southeast to south, later turning southwest, and maintaining a smooth to slight sea state.
On the East Coast, afternoon winds will begin from southeast to south, shifting to south to southwest, then transitioning to west to northwest by night, and finally settling at northwest in the morning. The North Coast will experience northwest winds in the afternoon, variable winds at night, and a return to the northwest by morning. In all areas, the sea condition is expected to remain smooth to slight, with no significant changes anticipated over the forecast period.
