Cyprus Weather: Forecast for Coastal Waters

Nicosia: The Cyprus Department of Meteorology has issued a forecast for the sea area surrounding Cyprus, covering a period from midday on October 22, 2025, to midday on October 23, 2025. This forecast pertains to a zone extending 8 kilometers from the coast.

According to Cyprus News Agency, the region is under the influence of a weak low-pressure system, resulting in mainly fine weather with areas of increased cloud coverage. The atmospheric pressure at the time of the forecast issuance was recorded at 1016 hPa. The visibility is expected to remain good, and the sea surface temperature is reported to be 25°C. There are no warnings currently in effect.

For the West Coast, winds will shift from west to northwest in the afternoon, registering at 3 to 4 on the Beaufort scale, with sea conditions ranging from smooth to slight. Overnight, winds will change direction from northwest to northeast at a Beaufort scale of 3, maintaining smooth to slight sea conditions. By morning, winds are expected to turn from northwest to northeast, and soon east to southeast, with sea conditions remaining consistent.

On the South Coast, afternoon winds will blow from southwest to west at 3 to 4 on the Beaufort scale, keeping the sea smooth to slight. At night, winds will adjust from northwest to northeast at a Beaufort scale of 3, with no change in sea conditions. In the morning, the wind direction will transition from northwest to northeast, then to southeast, with smooth to slight sea conditions.

The East Coast will experience afternoon winds ranging from southeast to southwest at 3 to 4 on the Beaufort scale, with sea conditions smooth to slight. As night falls, winds will shift west to northwest at a Beaufort scale of 3, and this pattern will persist into the morning before changing to northeast to southeast.

Finally, the North Coast will see afternoon winds blowing from west to northwest at 3 to 4 on the Beaufort scale, maintaining smooth to slight sea conditions. During the night, winds will transition from southeast to southwest at a Beaufort scale of 3. By morning, a shift from southeast to southwest, and then northwest to northeast is anticipated, with sea conditions remaining smooth to slight.
