Cyprus Unveils New International Brand Strategy to Strengthen Global Image

Nicosia: The Government has presented a new national brand narrative aimed at strengthening the country's international identity and positioning it as a stable, modern European hub with a global outlook. According to Cyprus News Agency, the new strategy was introduced during two consecutive events held in Nicosia under the title "Repositioning Cyprus: Presentation on the New Brand Narrative." The initiative forms part of the Republic of Cyprus' international identity and image strategy, which has been implemented since 2025. The first event was addressed to public sector officials, while the second brought together representatives of the business community, industry organisations, and other stakeholders. The project is being implemented by Invest Cyprus under the coordination of the Presidency, with the support of the Ministries of Foreign Affairs and Finance. The country's new national narrative is encapsulated in the message, "Stability with Perspective; a European Hub with Global Outlook," reflecting the government's vision of building on Cyprus' stability, leveraging its competitive advantages, and reinforcing its role as a modern European state with an international orientation. The framework provides a unified set of messages, communication tools, and strategic guidelines designed to help government bodies, institutions, and businesses promote Cyprus consistently and credibly in international markets. Addressing the business event, Deputy Minister to the President Irene Piki said the development of Cyprus' first comprehensive international branding strategy had been a key priority set by President Nikos Christodoulides early in his administration. She stressed that the initiative goes beyond a communication campaign, focusing instead on Cyprus' long-term international positioning. Piki noted that a country's reputation is built through genuine progress, reforms, stability, and credibility rather than marketing alone. She called on businesses to actively support the strategy, describing Cypriot companies as key ambassadors for the country abroad. Invest Cyprus Chairman Evgenios Evgeniou said the initiative would further strengthen Cyprus' reputation as a trusted European business and investment destination.
