Limassol: Cyprus University of Technology (CUT) has been included for the first time in the internationally recognised QS World University Rankings, securing the 686th position worldwide.
According to Cyprus News Agency, CUT announced in a press release on Monday that the university is among the top 8% of the 8,467 universities evaluated globally. This places CUT in the top 46% of the universities included in the ranking. It is noted that only 1,501 universities, representing 18% of all institutions, have managed to secure a spot on this prestigious list.
The QS World University Rankings is considered one of the top three international university rankings, alongside the Times Higher Education World University Rankings and the Academic Ranking of World Universities (Shanghai Ranking). As a small institution with fewer than 5,000 students, CUT met not only the general eligibility criteria applicable to all universities but also the specific criteria for small universities, underscoring the significance of its achievement. CUT is the only small university in Cyprus and Greece to make it onto the list.
This acknowledgment enhances CUT’s standing on the global academic stage and serves as a validation of its strategic focus on research, learning experience, internationalization, and sustainable development.
