Nicosia: The 40th General Assembly of the Cyprus Universities Rectors' Conference was held on 12 June 2026 at the University of Cyprus, under the leadership of the President of the Conference, Professor Tasos Christofides, who is also the Rector of the University of Cyprus. The conference also underscored the value of the Cyprus Repository of Doctoral Dissertations, a tool developed to enhance the visibility and accessibility of doctoral research from Cypriot universities. This repository aims to provide broader access to research outputs, thereby increasing the visibility of scientific knowledge that has a significant societal impact.
Meetings with key partners in the Cypriot higher education sector were an integral part of the assembly. Discussions with representatives from the Ministry of Education, Sport, and Youth focused on collaboration opportunities with the Educational Psychology Service to develop enrichment programs for gifted and talented students. Additionally, the assembly explored joint initiatives with the Foundation for the Management of European Lifelong Learning Programmes and held an introductory meeting with the new leadership of the Cyprus Agency of Quality Assurance and Accreditation in Higher Education.
