Cyprus to Experience Mainly Fine Weather with Local Mist Risks

Nicosia: The Cyprus Department of Meteorology has released its forecast for the sea area of Cyprus, predicting mainly fine weather conditions for the period from noon on July 20, 2026, to noon on July 21, 2026. The forecast covers an area extending 8 kilometers seawards and indicates that the region will experience seasonal low atmospheric pressure, measured at 1009 hPa at the time of issue.

According to Cyprus News Agency, the weather is expected to remain primarily clear, with increased low cloud coverage anticipated overnight and during the morning hours. There is a risk of local mist and fog patches forming, particularly along the southern and eastern coasts, which may result in reduced visibility levels. While visibility is generally expected to be good, it may deteriorate to moderate or poor in mist and very poor in areas experiencing fog.

The sea surface temperature is forecasted to be 28°C, and no weather warnings have been issued for the area. The wind is expected to vary across different coasts, with the Beaufort scale indicating varying intensities throughout the day and night. On the west coast, winds will range from west to northwest during the afternoon and northwest to northeast at night, with smooth to slight sea conditions. The south coast will experience southwest to west winds, with conditions remaining smooth to slight. Similarly, the east and north coasts will see winds shifting throughout the day, maintaining smooth to slight sea conditions.

Overall, the forecast suggests a calm and fine weather pattern with minor disruptions due to localized mist and fog, particularly affecting visibility in certain coastal regions.
