Nicosia: The Cyprus Department of Meteorology has issued a forecast for the sea area of Cyprus, indicating that the region will experience mainly fine weather over the next 24-hour period. Seasonal low pressure is currently influencing the area, leading to locally increased low cloud coverage tonight and tomorrow morning. Mist and fog patches are expected to develop, primarily affecting the southern and eastern parts of the region.
According to Cyprus News Agency, visibility across the sea area is generally good; however, it will decrease to moderate or poor in misty conditions and become very poor in areas affected by fog. The sea surface temperature is recorded at 27°C, with the atmospheric pressure measured at 1005 hPa at the time of the forecast release. There are no warnings in effect for the forecast period.
The forecast details varying wind patterns across different coastal areas. On the west coast, winds will shift from west to northwest at night to southeast to southwest in the morning, eventually settling from southwest to northwest by the afternoon. The state of the sea will remain slight, smoothing out near the coast. The south coast will experience northwest to northeast winds at night, transitioning to southeast to southwest in the morning, and southwest to west by the afternoon, with smooth to slight sea conditions throughout. Similar wind patterns are expected along the east and north coasts, with wind speeds ranging from 3 to 4 on the Beaufort scale and the state of the sea remaining smooth to slight across these regions.
