Cyprus Showcases High-Quality Products at 51st Foodex Japan

Tokyo: Cyprus participated in the 51st Foodex Japan 2026 International Food and Beverage Exhibition, held from March 10 to 13 at the Tokyo Big Sight exhibition center in Japan.

According to Cyprus News Agency, the Ministry of Energy, Trade and Industry announced that the country's presence at this year's event provided valuable insights for shaping its future strategy in the Japanese market. It also highlighted significant growth potential for high-quality Cypriot products within an increasingly competitive international environment.

The participation was organized at the initiative of the Ministry, in collaboration with the Cyprus Trade Center in Tokyo, and formed part of the European Pavilion (EU Pavilion). This ensured strong visibility and facilitated access to a specialized network of buyers, importers, and HORECA sector representatives. Furthermore, under the coordination of the European Commission, a carefully selected range of Cypriot products was showcased and actively promoted, offering visitors the opportunity to experience the quality and authenticity of Cyprus's production.

Halloumi took center stage, with tastings offered to a large number of visitors, reaffirming its international recognition and attracting strong interest from professionals involved in the Mediterranean diet sector.

At the same time, Cypriot wines performed exceptionally well as part of the broader promotion of European wines. Cyprus' presence was further enhanced by premium olive oils and salt products, which were featured in live cooking demonstrations within the pavilion.

As noted in the Ministry's announcement, the exhibition once again confirmed its status as Asia's leading trade fair for the industry, attracting more than 72,000 trade visitors and 2,930 exhibitors from 74 countries and regions this year.
