Cyprus Sends Humanitarian Aid Worth Pound 200,000 to Lebanon

Nicosia: The Republic of Cyprus has sent humanitarian aid worth approximately pound 200,000 to Lebanon through the CyprusAid programme, following a decision by the Council of Ministers.

According to Cyprus News Agency, a post by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on X stated that the assistance was provided through close cooperation between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Health.

The shipment, consisting of 31 containers carrying pharmaceutical products and medical supplies, departed from the Port of Limassol on July 26, 2026, and has already arrived at the Port of Beirut.

The Foreign Ministry said that the total humanitarian assistance provided by Cyprus to Lebanon so far in 2026 amounts to pound 840,000.

In addition, through CyprusAid, scholarships will be offered to Lebanese citizens in September. These will include both short-term scholarships for seminars and training programmes organised by CyprusAid and longer-term scholarships for studies at higher education institutions in the Republic of Cyprus.
