Nicosia: The Republic of Cyprus is in continuous communication with the Greek government and stands ready to assist in the firefighting operation, President of the Republic Nikos Christodoulides said in a written statement expressing profound sorrow over the devastation caused by the deadly wildfires.
According to Cyprus News Agency, President Christodoulides conveyed his sorrow, stating, "It is with profound sorrow that we are witnessing the devastation caused by the deadly wildfires that have been raging in various parts of Greece during the past few days." He further expressed solidarity with Greece, mentioning, "We share in the grief over the loss of human lives, and our thoughts are with our Greek brothers and sisters who are enduring this difficult ordeal."
President Christodoulides highlighted that the Republic of Cyprus, through the National Civil Protection Coordinator, remains in constant communication with the Greek Government and is ready to provide assistance in the firefighting efforts.
